This seminar introduces the essential concepts of project management.  It gives participants the tools and techniques needed to lead and work effectively on a project team. It will enable workers to effectively plan and control successful projects which deliver value to both the client and the project organization.

Deliverables

Graduates of this seminar will understand how to plan, execute, and control a project from initiation to close-out. In particular participants should be able to:

•    Build key project management vocabulary to facilitate client communication, using the accepted global standard
•    Employ commonly used techniques for selecting projects from a list of candidate projects
•    Determine how each of PMI’s 10 Project Management Knowledge Areas can be used to improve project performance
•    Name the key stakeholders in a project and determine how best to communicate with and engage them during the project to increase chance of success
•    Break a project into logical phases and specify the primary activities that occur in each phase
•    Effectively use the components of a project charter and appropriately scale each of them based on the size of a project
•    Write SMART project objectives that will help define project scope
•    Understand the role of “The Triple Constraint” in project management and apply it in determining project scope
•    Document and clearly communicate project assumptions
